Remember that you don’t punish your dog when he did something wrong, you just ignore it. Punishing will make your dog avoid you and see you like an enemy. Every time he does a good thing you will use the clicker and give him a treat. Your dog will quickly realize that good behavior is rewarding.

- Patience and consistency is the key of success.
Actually, these characteristics are absolutely vital for every difficult task. And dog training is not the easiest thing around. You must be calm and understanding even if your dog frustrates you with his behavior. Mistakes are part of the training, so you need to be prepared for them. Don’t yell at your dog, and don’t show anger, dogs can feel it. If you feel that you and your dog are tired of training, take a break and continue tomorrow. But try to do small training sessions regularly.
